THE STORY CONTINUES -
After 27yrs, the dr5 lab has permanently closed. Yes.. Sad. We will not be publishing the process, contrary to rumor.
As photographers ourselves dr5 will always be a part of our shooting art, as it was in the beginning.
Since the large custom dr5 processor is no-more, we have come full-circle in how dr5 is processed.
I have setup a small custom processor in my studio to run dr5 B&W, neutral & sepia. I am also running B&W negs.
While I am no longer offering service as a "lab". I am not immune to old clients needing B&W slides.
The large dip&dunk custom made dr5 processor was very cost effective.
Our much smaller setup is a "one-shot" chemistry process [the D&D a replenished process], effectively and drastically increasing process costs.
Since our closure, costs in general have sky-rocketed to the unheard of.
I am happy I will have the capacity to run some films on a limited basis. Feel free to email me directly - dr5us@dr5.us
Below are the preliminary rates for me to personally develop your films. ..THIS IS A PRIVATE SERVICE - NO LONGER A LAB.
PLEASE email me 1st for my availability. Please do not just blindly send rolls. I will consider all requests.
Below are the estimated rates for future services. Testing of our new setup will be starting this coming September.
NOTE: If you'd like to be involved in the testing phase, contact me. Some details are posted on our SM pages.
NOTE 2: Some dr5 films and iso's will not be run in this private service. Please check the film review before sending in films.
